Safety Tour with SEPTA Control Center

Join the Philadelphia Chapter of ASSP for an exclusive visit to SEPTA Headquarters, where attendees will tour the Operations Control Center (OCC), the central hub responsible for coordinating communications and operations across all SEPTA transit modes.

Following the tour, participants will enjoy a lunch presentation with SEPTA General Manager Scott Sauer, who previously served as Assistant General Manager of Safety and has been a key leader in integrating safety throughout SEPTA’s Strategic Plan.

The program will conclude with a presentation by Jackie Matsanka, providing an in-depth look at SEPTA’s Safety Management System (SMS) and how the agency is implementing the Federal Transit Administration’s four pillars of SMS: Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion.

Background Check:

SEPTA requires a background check to tour the control room.  They will need the following information prior to October 7^th:

• First name
• Last name
• Date of Birth
• Social Security Number
• Copy of State-issued Real ID or Passport

Control Center Tour Rules of Behavior- This form will be emailed to you after registration.  Please complete this form and send it in with the background check information.

*Note: You will not be able to go on the tour of the Control Center without the background check.  If you only wish to attend the lunch and learn, please let us know.  The lunch will begin after the tour around 12pm.

How Do I get there?

We recommend using the train if possible as parking is a challenge:

SEPTA HQ is at 13^th Street station on the El (Market Frankford Line) or if you are taking regional rail, you would get off at Jefferson station and walk one block to Headquarters
