ASSP Philadelphia Hybrid Chapter Meeting

Please join us in person, and network with the Philadelphia safety community for a new lower meeting price of only $20, which includes lunch. New chapter members, remember your first meeting is FREE – select the Pay at Door option and let us know you are a new member when you arrive. Certificates of attendance will be provided for professional certification maintenance points.

We are also planning to livestream and record this event for posting on our website.  If you would like to participate in the livestream, select the Virtual/Livestream option below for $0.  Hybrid meetings are new for the ASSP Philadelphia Chapter.  Please pardon our learning curve as we try to meet our membership’s needs and requests.  Note that virtual attendees may not be able to fully participate in all aspects of the meeting, such as networking opportunities.

Topic A Programmatic Overview of Fire Protection and Property Loss Prevention

The presentation will review a total management program which has been demonstrated to be effective for property loss prevention and control. Each of the program elements will be discussed as a barrier against loss. Correlations and connections will be made to show alignment with occupational safety and health programs.

Presenter Jameson Wendell, CSP, CFPS

Our presenter is Jameson Wendell, CSP, CFPS. Jameson is an Associate Director of Safety and Environment at Merck & Co., Inc. At Merck, he leads the Global Fire and Property Loss Prevention and Fire and Life Safety Programs. In his 21-year career, Jameson has worked in the fire protection systems, commercial power generation, numerous elements of Oil & Gas, and pharmaceutical sectors.  Jameson holds a BS in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He is a Certified Safety Professional and a Certified Fire Protection Specialist.

Jameson is an experienced emergency responder in the fields of fire, rescue, and hazardous materials with over 17 years with both municipal and industrial response teams and agencies. Currently he is a volunteer firefighter in Limerick Pennsylvania and the Safety Officer for the Montgomery County Hazardous Materials Response team. Jameson holds numerous certifications in firefighting, fire officer leadership, specialty rescue disciplines, hazardous materials incident command, and incident safety.

Jameson is a Local Level Fire Instructor through the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy. In addition, he is a member of the National Fire Protection Association, American Society of Safety Professionals, and the Pennsylvania Association of Hazardous Materials Technicians.

Jameson is married and has three active children in competitive cheerleading, Tier 2 hockey, and high school swimming.
